I have read this thread, and I don't get where you all came up with a red head quitting, but that being said, it couldn't be Holly Gilliam cause she is a senior and will graduate at the end of this month.
Which red head quit-Holly Gilliam or Brett Harding???

Do you think if he is truly innocent he should just let it go? You said for the sake of his family? Do you know how his family feels about this? Last time I checked that article in the times news has his own brother on the front page, not to mention the other family who was there with him. Personally, I think Godsey feels like to quit and walk away is no kind of example for his children or grandchildren. He's said it again and again that this is about right vs wrong, and he feels like he's standing up for what is right. I think that if you let people suggest things and accuse you of things and get away with it then your character is being brought into question and at all costs you should defend yourself. Honestly, i'd like someone to give me one good reason why he should just "let it go" other than maybe you're tired of hearing about it....
Thats what I'd like to know...Neither of the re heads are quitters by any means. I thought I would've heard about it if one of those girls quit, but didn't. Holly is a senior and Brett will be a senior next season. Who knows . . .

Because the school board doesn't have to give a reason for the firing, there is no legal action that can be taken to them that will make a difference. I was there at the first meeting and even the second one, but now it's over, for these girls sakes everyone needs to start thinking about them next season and not him. Another reason is, as has been stated before, the recommendations for coaches for next season have been sent in and he wasn't on there and there's no way he can fight that either. He's running into a gunfight with a butter knife.
I agree that you pose some good points, but disagree there is nothing he can do legally. I think what everyone fails to realize that on a hope and a prayer that some of these girls and there parents are standing beside Godsey, and it's no one else's place to say whether that is right for them or not. I think they truly believe that if they can get a new school board in there come election time that maybe not next year but in the future they can see a reversal of this situation. I however hope Godsey takes another job, just because I think he could do more good somewhere he will be appreciated.
I'd be willing to bet that all incumbants seeking re-election will be re-elected unless something earth shattering happens. Just my opinion. And as far as the few players/parents supporting Mr. Godsey - they have that right and more power to them - whether they succeed in getting their wishes or not.
good post folks...
